Hello! Nice To Meet You!
My name is Susan Cote and I wanted to share some information about myself so you have a better feeling of who I am since I will be your child’s teacher this year. Please also feel free to share my information with your child so they have some inside knowledge of “who is Mrs. Cote.” My husband and I have lived in Natomas since 2002. We have two beautiful boys; Tyler and Ryan and dog Abby. They keep us extra busy with their school and sports activities.
I became a teacher because I have always looked up to teachers. When I was in elementary school I enjoyed all of my classes/teachers and looked forward to attending school. My parents who I had a great deal of respect for held teachers in a high regard. I remember all of my teachers but when I was in 5th and 6th grade I had the same teacher. She was my favorite teacher and although she was strict she was also very loving to all of her students. She always made me feel like she cared and often shared her life stories with us. I knew in 5th grade that I definitely wanted to be like her as a teacher. She was respectful but had high standards for all of her students. I never forgot her and years later when I began my teaching career in Fairfield she was a colleague of mine, teaching at the same school. I would often visit her classroom to see her and share stories with her about how she impacted my choice to become a teacher. I was so grateful to get the opportunity to actually teach with her as a colleague. She is now retired but I will always remember how much of an impression she left on me.
This will be my 22nd year teaching. I began my teaching career in 2001 for the Fairfield Suisun Unified School District at Laurel Creek Elementary School. I started teaching in Natomas in 2008 and have taught at Witter Ranch Elementary, Star Academy (Charter), and H. Allen Hight.
I look forward to this school year and getting to know all of my new students and families!
